The actual weight
Actual Weight, that is, the Weight obtained by weighing (weighing), including the Gross Weight (G.W.) and the Net Weight (N.W.).The most common is the actual gross weight.
In the air cargo transportation, the actual gross weight is often compared with the calculated volume weight, which is larger than the calculation and collection of freight.
The volume weight
Volumetric Weight or Dimensions Weight is the Weight calculated from the volume of a cargo according to a certain translation coefficient or calculation formula.
In air cargo transport, the conversion coefficient for calculating volume weight is generally 1:167 kg, that is, one cubic meter.
Such as: a ticket air Cargo actual gross Weight is 95 kg, volume of 1.2 cubic meters, according to the air for 7 coefficient calculation, the volume of this ticket Goods Weight is 1.2 * 167 = 200.4 kg, is greater than the actual gross Weight 95 kg, so the Goods to Cargo (also called Light cast Goods, Goods, English called Light Weight Cargo or Light Cargo/Goods or Low Density Cargo or Measurement Cargo), airlines will according to the volume Weight to billing, and not the actual gross Weight. Please note that air freight is commonly referred to as bubble cargo and sea freight as light cargo.
Another ticket air Cargo, such as: the actual gross Weight is 560 kg, volume is 1.5 CBM, calculated according to the coefficient of air freight for 7, this ticket Goods volume Weight is 1.5 * 167 = 250.5 kg, less than the actual gross Weight 560 kg, so the Goods is Heavy Cargo (English name Dead Weight Cargo or Heavy Cargo/Goods or High Density Cargo), airlines will be in accordance with the actual Mao Chonglai billing, rather than the volume Weight.
In short, according to a certain conversion coefficient, calculate the volume weight, and then compare the volume weight with the actual weight, which is larger according to that charge.
Chargeable weight
English name Chargeable Weight 】 【 Chargeable Weight, referred to as "C.W., namely which calculate the Weight of the freight and other miscellaneous fees.
The billable weight is either the actual gross weight or the volume weight, the billable weight = the actual weight VS the volume weight, whichever is the largest is the weight calculated for the transportation cost.
Calculation method
Calculation method of express delivery and air transportation:
Regular items:
Length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷6000= volume weight (KG), that is, 1CBM≈166.66667KG.
Irregular items:
The longest (cm) × the widest (cm) × the highest (cm) ÷6000= volume weight (KG), that is, 1CBM≈166.66667KG.
This is an internationally accepted algorithm. In short, the weight of 1 cubic meter is greater than 166.67 kg is called heavy cargo, less than 166.67 kg is called bubble cargo.Heavy goods according to the actual gross weight charge, bubble goods according to the volume and weight charge.
Matters needing attention:
1. The Cubic Meter is composed of three Cubic meters.
2. Volume and weight are also calculated according to length (cm) × width (cm) × height (cm) ÷5000, which is not common. Generally, only express companies use this algorithm.
3, in fact, the division of air cargo transportation of heavy cargo and cargo much more complex, depending on the density, for example, a 1:30 0, 1, 400, 1:500, 1:800, 1:1000 and so on.The ratio is different, the price is different.
Let's say it's $25 / kg for 1:30, $24 / kg for 1:50.So 1:300 means 1 cubic meter is equal to 300 kilograms, 1:400 means 1 cubic meter is equal to 400 kilograms, and so on.
4. In order to make full use of the space and deadweight of the aircraft, the heavy cargo and cargo will be reasonably matched. Air cargo stowage is a technical activity -- a good match can make full use of the limited space resources of the aircraft, and a good performance can even greatly increase the extra profit.Too much heavy cargo will waste space (overweight without full space), too much cargo will waste deadweight (full without full weight).
Calculation method of sea transportation:
1. The classification of heavy cargo and light cargo by sea transport is much simpler than that by air transport. China's LCL business basically differentiates heavy cargo and light cargo according to the standard that 1 cubic meter is equal to 1 ton.In the LCL, heavy goods are rare, and they are basically light goods. Besides, the freight is calculated by volume, which is fundamentally different from the freight calculated by weight by air, so it is much simpler.A lot of people do a lot of shipping, but they've never heard of light or heavy goods because they don't use them.
2. According to the stowage of a ship, Goods whose stowage factor is less than the ship's Cargo capacity coefficient are called Dead Weight Cargo/Heavy Goods.Measurement Cargo/Light Goods are Goods whose stowage factor is greater than the ship's Cargo capacity factor.
3. According to the calculation of freight and international shipping practice, goods whose stowage factor is less than 1.1328 cubic meters/ton or 40 cubic feet/ton are called heavy cargo;Cargo whose stowage factor is greater than 1.1328 cubic meters/ton or 40 cubic feet/ton is called light cargo/wet cargo.
4. The concept of heavy cargo and light cargo is closely related to stowage, transportation, storage and billing.Carriers or freight forwarders distinguish between heavy cargo, light cargo, and non-cargo according to certain criteria.
