In short: Baitong Logistics provides shipment tracking through our BR1express portal plus written milestone updates from your account contact. A booking reference, container number or air waybill number is enough to start a trace. Tracking shows the milestones that matter — cargo received at origin, export clearance, departure, transhipment, destination arrival, import clearance and final delivery — and any exception status triggers a proactive written update rather than leaving you to chase it.
There are three ways to get a position update, and they serve different needs.
| Method | What you need | Best for | Response time |
|---|---|---|---|
| BR1express tracking portal | Booking reference, container number or AWB | Self-service status checks at any hour | Real time to last carrier event |
| Email to your account contact | Reference number plus a specific question | Interpreting a status, exception handling | Same business day |
| WhatsApp / phone | Reference number | Urgent commercial decisions | Within hours during China business hours |
Start a trace by writing to overseas02@batongls.com or WhatsApp +86 191 2930 8513 with your reference number. If you do not have one, the shipper name, destination and approximate departure date is usually enough for us to locate the file.
Tracking labels are not standardised across the industry, which is why a status can appear on a carrier website and look alarming when nothing is wrong. These are the statuses used in Baitong files and what they mean operationally.
| Status | Meaning | Normal duration | When to worry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Booking confirmed | Space reserved with the carrier; container not yet loaded | 1–7 days before cut-off | If no movement within 48 hours of cut-off |
| Cargo received | Goods physically at our warehouse or CFS | — | If the supplier says delivered but this is not shown |
| Export cleared | China customs released the export declaration | Same day to 2 days | If held beyond 2 days |
| Loaded / departed | Container or pallet on board, vessel or flight departed | — | If "booking confirmed" persists past sailing date |
| In transit / transhipment | Moving, or waiting at a relay port for a connecting vessel | 1–10 days at relay port | If a relay stay exceeds 10 days |
| Arrived at destination port | Vessel berthed; cargo not yet released | 1–5 days to discharge | If no discharge movement after 5 days |
| Import cleared | Destination customs released the goods | 1–5 days after arrival | If held for inspection or document query |
| Delivered | Signed for at the final address | — | If delivery is claimed but no proof of delivery exists |
A tracking page that only shows "in transit" for three weeks is not useful. We report the seven milestones that a buyer can actually act on:
When a status changes to an exception, the file leaves normal tracking and enters the exception process.
| Exception shown | What it means | What we do |
|---|---|---|
| Customs hold / inspection | Authority is examining documents or cargo | Confirm inspection type, supply requested documents, give a release estimate |
| Rollover / rolled | Carrier moved the container to a later vessel | Present wait versus re-route versus air upgrade with cost and time for each |
| Missing documents | Invoice, packing list, licence or certificate is incomplete | Send a specific list of what is missing; hold clearance until received |
| Address issue | Consignee unreachable or delivery refused | Contact consignee, agree redelivery or return instruction |
| Damage reported | Visible damage at handover | Photograph, note on the delivery receipt, open a claim file same day |
For cross-border parcels the tracking chain is longer because it crosses postal systems. Expect three segments rather than one continuous timeline: China export scan, international line-haul, destination delivery scan. Gaps of 7–14 days between the international segment and the destination scan are normal in postal-style clearance and do not by themselves indicate loss.
We treat a parcel as a potential loss only after the agreed upper bound plus buffer has elapsed with no destination scan, and we open the trace with the destination operator rather than waiting for the customer to escalate.
Tracking shows events, not causes. A container sitting at a relay port for nine days shows as "transhipment" whether the cause is a missed connection, a blank sailing or port congestion. That is why an exception status is paired with a written explanation from your account contact — the status tells you where, the message tells you why and what happens next.
Ask for portal access and a named account contact at booking stage, not after a problem appears. Send origin, destination, cargo details and your preferred reporting cadence to overseas02@batongls.com or WhatsApp +86 191 2930 8513.

A booking reference is enough. Container numbers work for FCL ocean shipments and air waybill numbers work for air freight. If you have none of these, the shipper name, destination and approximate departure date can usually identify the file.
Long gaps are normal during transhipment and during the international line-haul segment of parcel shipments. If a gap exceeds the expected window for that segment, we open a trace with the carrier or destination operator.
Tracking is available through the BR1express portal and through written milestone updates from your account contact. For accounts that need structured data feeds, discuss the requirement with your account manager so the available options can be confirmed in writing.
No. We can only trace files where Baitong Logistics is the booking party or the named agent.
